Police stations in eight frontline communities in Mykolaiv region have received modern equipment that will allow them to work during blackouts. The project was implemented with the support of the Government of Denmark and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine.
According to the Embassy of Denmark in Ukraine, the project cost exceeded six million hryvnias. Its implementation included the arrangement of a modern situation centre that operates around the clock and coordinates police actions, as well as the provision of eight police stations with backup power, computer equipment, furniture, and 165 mobile chargers for use in the field.
The new equipment was delivered to the police stations in Polyhon, Pervomaiske, Shyroke, Snihurivka, Vasylivka, Novovasylivka, Barativka and Halytsynove.
Jacob Torrild Hansen, Head of the Danish Embassy's office in Mykolaiv, stressed that support for such initiatives not only improves working conditions for law enforcement officers, but also makes life safer for civilians.
«A capable, well-equipped and responsive police force is crucial for maintaining stability in frontline areas. We support initiatives that help law enforcement officers not only to fulfil their duties, but also to improve the accessibility of safety and security for the population — especially in the face of constant challenges,» said Jacob Torrild Hansen.
It is worth reminding that the first Security Centre in Mykolaiv Oblast was opened in Snihurivka AH. According to Vitalii Kim, head of the regional police department, such hubs can increase the crime detection rate by 30-40%.
