The United Nations Development Program in Ukraine is dismantling a house destroyed during a rocket attack at 119 Slobidska Street in Mykolaiv.

These works are planned to be completed by the end of 2024, reported NikVesti in the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

They explained that the projects were selected directly by UNDP representatives. And the costs of dismantling the building will be paid from the Development Program.

Before that, NikVesti wrote that the UN Development Program is also dismantling the destroyed house at 43 Pohranychna Street. As of September 20, builders have already started work.

A rocket hit a five-story building in October 2022. Then 7 people died, among them was an 11-year-old boy. The impact completely destroyed two entrances — No. 3 and No. 4. In April 2024, a decision was made to dismantle them.

The owners of the apartments at 43 Pohranychna Street refused to dismantle the destroyed houses. Then the housing and communal services department of Mykolaiv reported that they did not know how to solve the problem with the refusal of residents. And the mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych explained that the fear of the locals is caused by worries that the land plots may become the object of construction of estates.

Prior to that, the Department of Housing and Communal Services of Mykolaiv said that the residents of dilapidated buildings at 54 Krylova Street and 43 Pohranychna Street, in case of unwillingness to give consent to dismantling, may lose any chance for further restoration. And later they said that they will still be able to get housing certificates.

In November 2023, the housing and communal services department said that the destroyed high-rise building at 43 Pohranychna Street can be restored, but this will probably be known after dismantling works and an additional examination of the building's foundation.
