Ukraine and the European Union signed an agreement on security guarantees. It guarantees Kyiv continued supply of weapons, training and other assistance in the field of security for years to come.

As The Guardian reports, on Thursday, June 27, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed an agreement on security guarantees with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the president of the European Council, Charles Michel.

In addition, security agreements were signed with Estonia and Lithuania.

To date, Ukraine has concluded agreements on security guarantees with 16 European states and the United States. Partner countries include Great Britain, Norway, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Latvia, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Sweden and Iceland.

Security agreements with these countries provide for a wide range of support measures for Ukraine. In particular, military and economic aid, as well as political support.

In addition to the general provisions, each of the partner countries also provided Ukraine with individual commitments that correspond to its capabilities and potential.

We will remind, on July 12, 2023, at the NATO summit in Vilnius, the G7 countries agreed on «security guarantees» for Ukraine, which include the supply of modern military equipment, training of the Ukrainian military, exchange of intelligence and assistance in the field of cyber defense.
