Mykolaiv City Council is to tighten controls over how officials submit their electronic declarations.

The relevant order was signed by the mayor, Oleksandr Sienkevych.

From 1 June 2026, a new procedure for verifying officials’ declarations will come into force within the executive committee. The human resources department must regularly provide the anti-corruption unit with information on employees who are appointed, transferred or dismissed from their posts, as well as submit an annual list of all officials required to submit declarations.

Based on this data, the city council will check whether all officials have submitted their declarations of income and assets on time.

If it transpires that an official has failed to submit a declaration or has done so late, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAZK) will be notified. This must be done within three working days of the breach being identified.

The order states that these measures are being introduced to monitor compliance with anti-corruption legislation and ensure the timely submission of declarations by city council officials.
