Ukrainian experts are helping Gulf countries build defences against attacks from Iran, says Zelenskyy

Ukrainian experts, who travelled to the Persian Gulf states following the outbreak of war between the US, Israel and Iran, are helping to strengthen their defences. This involves analysing security measures and preparing responses to potential attacks.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in comments to journalists, as quoted by Suspilne.

According to him, initially Ukrainian experts assessed the level of protection of facilities and determined what changes were necessary. Currently, the cooperation has moved to the next stage, where the parties are agreeing on specific steps to strengthen defences.

He clarified that this concerns not only air defence systems, but also the physical protection of facilities and the organisation of logistics.

Once the assessment is complete, Ukrainian specialists may move on to training foreign partners. Two formats are envisaged: training in Ukraine or Ukrainian instructors working abroad.

«In any case… our priority is to end the war here,» emphasised Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The President added that the cooperation is long-term in nature and is planned to last for ten years. At the same time, the areas of cooperation may change depending on the partners’ needs — in particular, this concerns possible arms supplies, including naval drones.

As is known, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that 11 countries have sent requests to Ukraine for assistance in intercepting and shooting down Iranian Shahed drones. Among them are the US, European countries and Iran’s neighbours.

He also announced the preparation of agreements with Middle Eastern countries providing for technical cooperation for 10 years or more.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine’s assistance to Middle Eastern countries is «political PR» for Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
