US President Donald Trump has stated that Ukraine’s assistance to countries in the Middle East is «political posturing» for Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

This was reported by MS NOW journalist Stephanie Rule following a telephone interview with the US leader.

According to her, during the conversation, Donald Trump stated that Ukraine had «done nothing», and described Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statements regarding support for US allies as having «political and PR objectives».

Furthermore, the US president once again criticised the Ukrainian leader, noting that he is «more difficult to deal with» than Vladimir Putin. Also, according to the journalist, Donald Trump stated that the Russian leader «is not afraid of Europe».

Separately, he expressed dissatisfaction that NATO allies are not actively participating in operations against Iran, whilst adding that the United States does not need their help.

In recent days, the US president has made a series of controversial statements. First, Trump warned that NATO faces a very bleak future if its allies do not help to reopen the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. After a number of NATO countries refused to take part in an operation to unblock the Strait of Hormuz, Trump lashed out at them. At the same time, he claimed that the US «does not need help» with this task. And the day before, the US President called NATO a «paper tiger» and stated that the US would remember this move by its allies.
