The head of state voiced his position in an interview with Agence France-Presse.
Responding to a question about his reaction to Valery Zaluzhny's words, the president said: «Probably, we all had the same emotion: Isn't it too early for all this?».
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stressed that it is inappropriate to discuss such topics publicly at this time.
«I simply believe that discussing the details that Valerii mentioned today is also very inappropriate. Because no one will benefit from it. After all, we are talking about our army, which is fighting today. And he will not look good, so to speak, if he talks about it. So he said it, and that's it,» the president said.
Earlier, Valerii Zaluzhnyi stated that the failure of the 2023 counteroffensive was a painful blow for him. According to him, the results of the operation were significantly affected by the excessive media coverage of the offensive. The former general also reported that in 2022, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a raid on his office while British officers were there. At that time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasised that it was important to focus efforts on defending the country and «leave personal matters for later».
