Fedir Panchenko, a member of the Mykolaiv City Council from the Propozytsia party, said that a team of representatives of the Batkivshchyna party and former regional council member Svitlana Fedorova «incited» Mykolaivoblenergo on him, causing part of the Solyani microdistrict to be left without electricity.

He said this in a video on his Instagram page, according to NikVesti.

According to Fedir Panchenko, due to a malfunction in some of the buildings in the Solyany neighbourhood, the electricity was not turned off for 10 days.

«Half of Solyany microdistrict, which is about 8-9 thousand people, was lucky: we had electricity for about 10 days. Something broke down at Mykolaivoblenergo. So we had electricity for 10 days,» said Fedir Panchenko.

The deputy stated that immediately after this, unknown individuals began spreading information that it was he who had «arranged» for this part of the neighbourhood not to have its power cut off, since he allegedly lives in this part of the territory.

«Of course, I would like to say 'yes', it is because of me that we have electricity. But I immediately admitted honestly that it was not my doing. I had a feeling that such nonsense could be spread not only by people, but also by someone who was doing it on purpose,» said Fedir Panchenko.

According to him, the next day, a «powerful team» of representatives of the Batkivshchyna party, together with Svitlana Fedorova, began photographing houses with electricity in the Solyani neighbourhood, where the deputy allegedly lives, and announced that they were taking control of the situation.

Because of this, as Fedir Panchenko stated, Mykolaivoblenergo «urgently repaired its equipment in order to disconnect half of the district».

«It's funny, they spent the whole day repairing the equipment, not to turn on the lights, but to turn them off! And indeed, in the evening they turn off the entire neighbourhood, and at night they turn off the whole city,» said the deputy.

He is convinced that these deputies have influence over the power cuts.

«I understand that these guys have some leverage over who to cut off and when... Okay, I'm not too bad off, but there are people who are worse off than me,» he said.

In the end, the deputy said that he would demand an explanation from Mykolaivoblenergo as to how this situation arose and that he was "ready to beg" for the lights to be turned back on in the neighbourhood.

«Please turn on the lights,» the deputy added at the end.

It should be noted that the situation with electricity supply in the Mykolaiv region remains difficult. Earlier, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, warned that in the worst-case scenario, the city could have electricity for up to two hours a day.

He also explained that emergency power cuts are currently in effect as energy companies are working to repair substations.

At the same time, Mykolaivoblenergo introduced power outage schedules for Sunday, 25 January. According to preliminary forecasts, Mykolaiv consumers will be without power for up to 18 hours, but actual outages may last even longer, depending on constant updates from Ukrenergo.
