«You can't live like that», — Trump on Ukrainians living without heating

US President Donald Trump said he was shocked that Ukrainians live without heating in severe frosts.

He said this while talking to journalists on board Air Force One.

«The people of Ukraine are having a very hard time. They are living without heat at minus 20 degrees. You know, it's very cold. It's mostly colder than Canada. But they are living without heat. I asked, 'How do they do it?', and he (President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, — note) gave me an answer. It's quite amazing what they do to survive. You can't live like that,» Donald Trump said.

He also noted that he had held a series of meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but, according to him, they did not yield any concrete results. The politician reiterated that the leaders of Ukraine and Russia are allegedly interested in concluding an agreement, but did not answer questions about possible concessions on the part of Russia.

In addition, the US president acknowledged that there had been no changes in the negotiation process since the previous round of talks.

It should be noted that as of this morning, 1,940 high-rise buildings in Kyiv remain without heating, which are being reconnected to the networks after the Russian attacks on 9 and 20 January.

At the same time, the situation with electricity supply in the Mykolaiv region also remains difficult. According to Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, residents should be prepared for the worst-case scenario — up to two hours of electricity per day.
