Zelenskyy: Ukraine will continue negotiations with the US on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and the occupied territories

Ukraine will continue to discuss with the United States the issues of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and Ukrainian territories.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on 7 January.

According to the head of state, he received the first report from NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov on the work of the Ukrainian negotiating team in France. A new round of negotiations with representatives of the US president is expected in the near future.

«We expect that the most difficult issues from the basic framework for ending the war will be discussed, namely the issues of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and the territories», Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President also instructed to work out possible formats for meetings at the level of leaders of Ukraine, European countries and the US. He stressed that Ukraine is open to dialogue and does not shy away from difficult topics, but peace must be fair and dignified.

«Ukraine does not shy away from the most difficult issues and will never be an obstacle to peace. Peace must be dignified. And it depends on our partners — whether they will ensure Russia's real willingness to end the war», Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasised .

Rustem Umerov, Andrii Hnatov, Kyrylo Budanov, Serhii Kyslytsia, Davyd Arakhamiia and Oleksandr Bevz are participating in the negotiations on behalf of Ukraine. After the meetings, the president expects a detailed report from the delegation.
