The Minister added that they will also discuss achieving lasting peace in the Middle East, maintaining security in the Indo-Pacific region, and responding to the crises in Sudan and Haiti.

«Global partnerships are necessary to respond to global challenges. The problems we face go beyond the Group of Seven and our borders. That is why it is extremely important to have a broad geographical representation at the negotiating table», Anita Anand said.

Earlier, she said that Canada is accelerating the disbursement of the last part of its contribution to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine — 70 million dollars. In particular, $10 million was transferred ahead of schedule to restore critical energy infrastructure after the Russian attacks.

In addition, the G7 Energy and Environment Ministers condemned Russia's attacks on Ukraine's energy system and promised to help meet Ukraine's energy needs following their meeting in Toronto.
