Olena Kiseliova, a deputy of the Mykolaiv City Council from «European Solidarity», head of the Legality and Transparency Commission, responded to Andrii Yermolaiev's accusations of her inaction.

During his speech at the session of the Mykolaiv City Council, the deputy said that the department he heads has never submitted any comments to the commission he criticises, according to NikVesti.

«I will try to be tolerant. Is this coming from the head of the anti-corruption department, whose department has never submitted a single comment to the commission he mentioned? And all this time he has been in the budget commission, voting for everything. It was all so clean and noble. This is about the substance,» the MP replied to Yermolaiev.

She also noted that representatives of «European Solidarity» do not join any associations in the city council. She stressed that this is prohibited by the party's charter, and therefore her colleagues act within the party's internal rules.

«First, learn when deputy groups are created and when inter-factional associations are created. No matter how much you say or how much you would like to shove the skeletons that everyone has in the closet, the 2020 elections were held on party lists. A party is a subject of the electoral process. And all the MPs had one or another affiliation with a party. I have a personal attitude and responsibility for the members of the party «European Solidarity» because each of the members was obliged to be a member of the party, then they would have the right to run for election and they are subject to the party's charter. And the party's charter clearly states that members of «EU» do not unite with anyone, nor do they form any inter-factional associations. Therefore, I will not say how and in what manner the signatures for this association were submitted. It has already received enough attention. So I say again, let's study the regulations. Finally, the deputy corps has such an urgent need to study it, when it is really the main document of any council. It was noble for a long time, but now we are starting to work. Any association does not give Mykolaiv City Council any powers or preferences,» said Kiseliova.

She also called on the council's staff to ignore anonymous sources that ask for information that is publicly available.

«I want to appeal to all the participants and the council staff and others, I ask you not to respond to requests from some unknown accounts, unknown representatives regarding public information of Mykolaiv city council, because it wastes time and resources of the executive bodies' employees. Any person, even if they are outside of Ukraine, can read what is publicly available. Because the commission has received requests for copies of the minutes or some other, let's say, wooden foot massage through the council's office and the secretary. I'm sorry, I'm tolerant in moderation. So study the regulations, check the website of Mykolaiv City Council, take the minutes of the commissions from there and work,» she summed up.

It should be noted that on 30 October, for the first time since 24 February 2022, Mykolaiv City Council partially met for an offline session. Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych offered the deputies a hybrid format of work, like their colleagues in Dnipro.

Before the session, it became known that Vladyslav Chaika, a deputy of the Mykolaiv City Council elected from the banned party «Opposition Platform «For Life», said that he had not been warned about the offline session of the City Council.

As a reminder, the sessions of Mykolaiv city and regional councils are currently held online. Over the past four years, members of the regional council have met offline only a few times, including in November 2024, May 2025, and October 2025.

The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, believes that holding sessions online has not affected the work of the city council. Recently, it became known that the city council has not shown the faces of its deputies for two months as a confirmation of their personal presence at the meetings of the sessions, which have been held via video conferencing for four years.

Following this, Ukrainian blogger and author of the telegram channel «Lachen wrote» Ihor Lachenkov called on Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych to hold a city council meeting offline.
