President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that a Ukrainian delegation is preparing a visit to the United States of America.
He made the announcement following a meeting on the international work of the Ukrainian government.
The delegation will include Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak, and Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk. According to the Head of State, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the National Security and Defence Council will also participate.
«There will also be a significant component of the visit by the Ministry of Defence and the National Security and Defence Council. We are forming a plan of meetings», Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
The President added that Ukraine had proposed several defence agreements to the United States that could strengthen cooperation between the two countries: «We must make our dialogue with America on these agreements more meaningful».
At the end of September, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported an agreement with US President Donald Trump on the purchase of US arms through various programmes. The Ukrainian delegation will hold technical talks on these agreements during the visit.
Among the key topics will also be the «drone deal», under which the United States is to purchase Ukrainian drones.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump said that the decision to provide Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles «had been made to some extent», but stressed that he was not seeking escalation with Russia.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that Ukraine's use of Tomahawk missiles «would damage relations between Moscow and Washington». The Kremlin also said it was waiting for concrete decisions from the United States on the possible supply of cruise missiles to Ukraine.
