The United States of America is ready to increase economic pressure on Russia, but this requires appropriate action by its European allies.

According to the journalist, Scott Bessent stressed that the United States is ready to increase its sanctions pressure on Moscow, but there are certain conditions for this.

«We are ready to increase pressure on Russia, but we need our European partners to follow us,» the US Treasury Secretary said during the interview.

He also added that further secondary sanctions and tariffs for countries that buy Russian oil could bring the Russian economy to «complete collapse» and «force Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table».

Earlier, Bessent said that US President Donald Trump would «carefully» study the issue of new sanctions against Russia in the coming days.
