A meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, his American counterpart Donald Trump, and Russian leader Vladimir Putin may take place as early as the end of next week.
This was reported by two sources to CBS News.
It is reported that Washington is working on a meeting place.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the US state of Alaska on 15 August.
In addition, the White House is considering inviting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Alaska, where the meeting is to take place.
President Zelenskyy has also said that a trilateral meeting between the leaders of the United States, Ukraine, and Russia is planned. However, a specific date for the event has not yet been set.
It is also worth noting that a number of civil society organisations in Alaska have announced a protest on the eve of the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the organisers, the event will take place on 14 August in the state's largest city, Anchorage.
In addition, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska scheduled for Friday is not a victory for the Kremlin.
