President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed the documents for the ratification of the Agreement on the establishment of a Special Tribunal for the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The Head of State said that he had instructed the Verkhovna Rada to develop and submit the necessary legislative changes as soon as possible.
«I ask MPs to consider this issue immediately. I also expect the teams of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Office to quickly present a schedule of work with partners to implement the agreement on the establishment of the tribunal and the actual launch of the institution,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
The President stressed that this year, Russia should feel that its responsibility for the crime of aggression is inevitable and that an international legal process has actually begun to bring Moscow to justice.
As reported earlier, The Hague has prepared a draft of a special tribunal to investigate the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine, which is unofficially called «a tribunal for Putin».
