On the sidelines of the NATO Summit in The Hague, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen. In the second half of 2025, Denmark will take over the presidency of the Council of the European Union from Poland.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy on social media platform X, the parties discussed deepening defence cooperation, the upcoming Danish presidency of the EU Council, and further support for the Ukrainian military.
According to the Head of State, they reached an important agreement — Denmark will become the first country with which Ukraine will start joint arms production. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that every state that sincerely supports Ukraine can count on a mutually beneficial partnership.
The President also thanked Denmark for its significant defence and political support.

As a reminder, in 2025, defence support for Ukraine under the «Danish model» will increase to €1.3 billion. Part of these funds will be provided at the expense of profits from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation.
It should be noted that Denmark has recently allocated the 26th military aid package for Ukraine, worth approximately DKK 4.2 billion, which is more than 560 million hryvnias.
