Almost all Mykolaiv MPs supported the ratification of the agreement with the US on subsoil

Almost all MPs elected from Mykolaiv region voted in favour of ratifying the US-Ukraine agreement on minerals.

The results of the roll-call vote were published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, according to NikVesti.

The decision on the subsoil agreement was supported by 338 MPs. In particular, Maksym Dyrdin, Artem Chornomorov, Oleksandr Haidu, Ihor Kopytin, Ihor Nehulevskyi, David Arakhamiia and Olena Moshenets.

The only one who did not vote for this decision was MP Oleksandr Pasichnyi.

UPD 17:00: MP Oleksandr Pasichnyi explained that his button did not work during the vote for the ratification of the subsoil agreement. He said this in his appeal to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, which is available at NikVesti.

The MP noted that he wanted to vote «for», but the button in the electronic vote counting system did not work. He also asked that his vote «for» be taken into account and that the VRU apparatus be instructed to check his voting machine.

It should be noted that prior to this, the ratification was approved by the VRU committees, and the Cabinet of Ministers submitted the necessary documents, such as an explanatory note, the text of the agreement itself, and registration.

Earlier, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko explained how the US Recovery Investment Fund will work. According to her, the fund can finance mining projects, but will not be involved in mining itself.

As a reminder, on 1 May, Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent signed an agreement between the two countries to establish the Recovery Investment Fund.

The bilateral agreement between Ukraine and the United States signed in Washington establishes a political framework for cooperation in the field of subsoil development.

Subsequently, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine published the full text of the agreement on cooperation in the field of subsoil use, which was signed with the US government on 1 May in Washington.
