This was reported by the American Embassy.
It is noted that Julie Davis arrived at a critical time to continue President Donald Trump's policy of ending the war and ensuring peace and prosperity in Ukraine. She will lead the US diplomatic mission in Kyiv until a new ambassador is appointed by Congress.
Julie Davis was nominated by Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance on 1 May.
Former US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink resigned in April. According to the Financial Times, her decision may have been partly due to disagreement with the new administration's policies. Brink had been in office for three years, since May 2022.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump made a statement about the need to introduce a 100 per cent duty on all films produced outside the country. He accused other countries of deliberately weakening the US film industry and creating threats to national security.
