Presidential Communications Advisor Dmytro Lytvyn said that since 18 March, the Russian army has fired at least 8 times at Ukraine's energy facilities.
He wrote about this on the social network Х.
«Moscow is a city built on lies, and this is no surprise to anyone in Ukraine. For example, in their statement after the meetings in Riyadh, the Russians claimed that the ceasefire at energy facilities had been in effect since 18 March. Why 18 March? Because it was then that they released a clearly fake story that Putin had allegedly ordered to stop strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure», writes Dmytro Lytvyn.
He noted that since 18 March, the Russian Federation has continued to strike at Ukraine's energy facilities.
«We will not go into details, but there have already been eight confirmed hits on energy facilities. And every night, our air defence forces shoot down about a hundred attack drones — and many of them were probably targeting other energy facilities. If it were not for our defenders, there could have been many more hits», the presidential adviser added.
As a reminder, on 18 March, Russian President Vladimir Putin supported US President Donald Trump's proposal to temporarily suspend attacks on energy infrastructure for 30 days and gave the relevant command to the military.
What is known about the «30-day silence»?
On 11 March, a Ukrainian delegation met with US representatives in Saudi Arabia. After the meeting, the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, said that Ukraine had expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal for a temporary ceasefire for 30 days.
In turn, Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine accepts the US proposal for a temporary ceasefire for 30 days, now «if Russians agree, the silence will work».
Later, on 13 March, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he agreed with the proposal to end hostilities in Ukraine, but that this should guarantee «long-term peace».
In his turn, US President Donald Trump said that Vladimir Putin had made «a promising statement, but it was not complete».
