The Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency, John Ratcliffe, has said that the Ukrainian military will not stop fighting, even if they are left without weapons, until they have acceptable conditions for a lasting peace.

As he noted during a hearing in the US Senate, the Ukrainian people and army have been underestimated for several years, but their resolve remains unbroken.

«I am convinced that they will fight with their bare hands if they have to, if they do not have the conditions that will allow them to achieve a lasting peace,» said John Ratcliffe.

He also stressed that US President Donald Trump is committed to ending the war on terms that will guarantee a lasting peace. According to him, the CIA is already taking steps to support this goal.

John Ratcliffe added that Donald Trump is aware of the threat posed by a Russian victory, and in the case of «successful negotiations» neither side will be able to achieve its maximum demands. At the same time, he acknowledged that the Russian army has an advantage on the battlefield and is gradually advancing.

As a reminder, Russia has stated that it will not return the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP to Ukraine, nor will it transfer it to international control.

In addition, during the talks with the US in Saudi Arabia, Russia insisted on full control over Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, although it failed to occupy all of these territories.
