Keir Starmer. Photo: BloombergBritish Prime Minister Keir Starmer is ready to deploy thousands of British soldiers to Ukraine, who could remain there for many years.
According to The Times, Starmer is ready to make an open-ended commitment to deploy British troops «for as long as it takes» along with Western allies to keep the peace.
According to the newspaper, a meeting of defence ministers «of the coalition of the willing» will be held in London this Thursday to discuss the deployment of peacekeeping forces in detail.
About six countries, including the UK, France, Turkey, Canada and Australia, are considering sending up to 30,000 troops to Ukraine. Other countries are ready to provide assistance in the form of weapons and logistical support.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that following talks with the leaders of Ukraine and France, an agreement was reached to develop a plan to end the fighting, which will be presented to the United States.
