President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine and its partners expect to continue positive negotiations with the United States, which should lead to the provision of security guarantees from the allies.

He said this today, 15 March, during a briefing.

In particular, he noted that after the last meeting between Ukraine and the United States, «the positive results are expected to continue».

«First of all, everyone expects that the positive result achieved at the last meeting between Ukraine and the United States will continue. And that it will lead to a meeting of allies: Ukraine, America and the Europeans. Everyone expects that the security guarantees will be allied: security guarantees for Ukraine from Europe, the United States, and others willing to help us», Zelenskyy said.

On 11 March, a Ukrainian delegation met with US representatives in Saudi Arabia. After the meeting, the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, said that Ukraine had expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal for a temporary ceasefire for 30 days.

For his part, Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine accepts the US proposal for a temporary ceasefire for 30 days, now «if Russians agree, the silence will work».

Later, on 13 March, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he agreed with the proposal to end hostilities in Ukraine, but that this should guarantee «long-term peace».

In his turn, US President Donald Trump said that Vladimir Putin had made a promising statement, but it was not complete.
