At the talks in Saudi Arabia, Ukraine will try to convince the US to resume intelligence and military support, as well as prove that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants to end the war with Russia as soon as possible.

According to the sources of The Financial Times, Kyiv plans to propose a partial ceasefire, which may include a restriction on long-range strikes on Russian territory and hostilities in the Black Sea.

In this way, Ukraine hopes that progress in the negotiations will encourage Washington to lift the decision to freeze intelligence sharing and arms sales.

One Ukrainian official noted that in the short term, Kyiv will focus on improving relations with the United States.

At the same time, two European officials said that Ukraine views the ceasefire talks as a «quid pro quo» in exchange for the resumption of US military aid.

A US State Department spokesperson said that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will be in Jeddah from Monday to Wednesday for talks aimed at «advancing the president's initiatives to end the Russian-Ukrainian war».

It should also be noted that US President Donald Trump said that Washington is close to resuming intelligence sharing with Ukraine. He also expressed hope for positive results of the upcoming talks between the US and Ukrainian delegations in Saudi Arabia.
