Tymoshenko says the war should end immediately because Europe is using Ukraine as a shield

Member of Parliament of Ukraine and leader of the party «Batkivshchyna» Yuliia Tymoshenko, photo: UPYuliia Tymoshenko, Ukrainian MP and leader of the «Batkivshchyna» party, said that Russia's war against Ukraine should end immediately, as Europe is using Ukraine as a shield.
She wrote this on her Facebook page in response to a statement by Bruno Kahl, head of the German intelligence agency BND, who suggested that if the war ends by 2030, Russia would be more likely to become a threat to Europe.
Bruno Kahl believes that it is likely that Russia will want to test the unity of Western countries and the effectiveness of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which stipulates that an attack on one of the NATO member states is considered an attack on all of them.
«We really hope that this will not happen... But we have to assume that Russia will want to test us, to test the unity of the West», the head of the intelligence service said.
In his opinion, the timing and probability of such a «test» are directly related to how events in the Russian-Ukrainian war will develop further.
Afterwards, MP Yuliia Tymoshenko wrote that with this «sensational statement» Bruno Cal «officially confirmed for the first time what we did not want to believe».
«Has someone decided to pay the price of Ukraine's very existence and the lives of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians for «weakening» Russia for the sake of security in Europe? I did not think that they would dare to say this so officially and openly. This explains a lot», Yuliia Tymoshenko wrote.
She also added that the Verkhovna Rada «is obliged to respond immediately».
«We are initiating such a step. The war must be ended immediately on the most fair terms», she clarified.
As a reminder, Yuliia Tymoshenko, Member of Parliament and leader of the «Batkivshchyna» party, said that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains the legitimate head of state, and Ukraine is a sovereign country, and only Ukrainians have the right to decide when to change the government.
