Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko said that Ukraine has enough funds and weapons to fight against Russia at least during the first half of 2025.

He said this in an interview with the Spanish publication El Pais.

According to him, Ukraine currently receives the necessary weapons from the United States, and in 2025 the budget will allocate sufficient funds for the purchase of ammunition and necessary military equipment.

At the same time, he admitted that the change of the presidential administration in the USA could be a «problem» and a «challenge» for Ukraine. According to the minister, her priority strategy should be «building trust for cooperation» with the team of the newly elected US President Donald Trump.

So to deal with the uncertainty about continued aid, Ukraine must use its time «very wisely» and be able to negotiate with the new administration.

Previously, the newly elected US President Donald Trump once again made a statement to end the war in Ukraine. According to him, his administration will «work very hard on Russia and Ukraine.» However, he did not specify exactly how.

Subsequently, Donald Trump's special envoy for the war in Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, presented a new plan for a peaceful settlement of the conflict, which proposes freezing the front line, creating a demilitarized zone and postponing Ukraine's accession to NATO indefinitely.

And recently, the United States allocated a $20 billion loan to Ukraine as part of the G7 initiative. The official website of the US Treasury Department states that the funds will be repaid from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets.
