Zelenskyy and Merts agreed on the creation of a contact group: the President's Office disclosed the details

The Office of the President of Ukraine announced the creation of a contact group regarding the end of the war. The first meeting in the new format is planned for December.

This was announced by the press secretary of the President of Ukraine, Serhii Nykyforov, Interfax-Ukraine writes.

«Ukraine is gathering key European partners who, together with the United States, are able to ensure the maximum strengthening of our state. The final list of participants is still being formed. Ukraine plans to hold this meeting in December to coordinate, develop a common position, ensure that it is strong in any development both in negotiations and on the battlefield,» he said.

Nykyforov specified that these will be the countries that have long-range capabilities, that make the largest investments in Ukrainian arms production, and on which Ukraine's future in NATO depends.

It should be noted that during the meeting, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the German chancellor candidate Friedrich Mertz discussed the issue of creating a contact group.

«I have a proposal to create a contact group from Germany, France, Poland, Great Britain — the four major countries of Europe and NATO, so that they can exchange ideas and in this way develop a common vision together with the USA,» said Friedrich Merz.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, publicly supported his initiative.

«I support your proposal to create a Contact Group. We have already organized it. The countries you mentioned already exist, we are also counting on Denmark. We count on them all, it's just that Denmark could represent the Nordic team. We want to hold such a meeting already in December,» he said.

It will be recalled that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the «hot phase» of the war with Russia can be stopped if the unoccupied territories of Ukraine are under the protection of NATO. The rest of the territories will be returned to Ukraine through diplomatic channels.
