The Mykolaiv City Council appealed to the European twin cities with a request to support the presidential Victory Plan for further support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The corresponding decision was made during an online session on Wednesday, October 30, NikVesti reports.

The head of the «Servant of the People» faction in the Mykolaiv City Council, Tetiana Dombrovska, said that this is necessary in order to convey to international partners the unified goal of the Ukrainian people to end the war.

«I want to ask you to support this project, in which we ask the sister cities to petition the national government of their countries to support this plan, so that all of Europe can see that we are united, that the war ends and that we finally have victory,» said Tatiana Dombrovska.

Vitaliy Kim, their colleague and head of Mykolaiv RMA, also appealed to the deputies with a request to support the draft decision.

«This is a political decision that demonstrates to our partners the unity of regions and communities. There are a lot of things that even I do not know, but the main theses, which were what is needed for the continuation of assistance to the Armed Forces and the Defense Forces,» added Vitalii Kim.

In turn, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, noted that the plan is not the position of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but represents the interests of Ukrainians.

«It is important for us that the world community understands that this is not the plan of President Zelenskyy, but the plan of the president, representative of the state of Ukraine, supported by his team, as well as people, representatives of local authorities,» said the mayor.

The decision was supported unanimously — 33 «for».

What does Zelenskyy's Victory Plan envisage?

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the Plan for Ukraine's victory in the war during the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on October 16. The plan includes five public items and several classified applications. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine's goal is to «change the circumstances so that Russia is forced to make peace.» He believes that the implementation of the plan may allow ending the war no later than next year.

The main points of the Victory Plan:

1. Geopolitical — Ukraine's invitation to NATO.
2. Military — increasing defense capabilities.
3. Deployment of non-nuclear deterrents.
4. Economic — recovery of the economy.
5. Security — strategies for the post-war period.

Earlier, the head of Mykolayiv RMA Vitalii Kim supported the Victory Plan of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Vitaly Kim thanked the president's team for the presentation of the Victory Plan. According to him, it is important that foreign partners see the unity of Ukraine in the implementation of this plan.
