Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko said that Ukraine is not negotiating with terrorists, responding to media reports about allegedly broken negotiations with the Russian Federation through intermediaries to end attacks on energy.

He said this in an interview with TSN.

«We do not negotiate with terrorists, that's for sure, especially some behind the scenes. This is impossible... Of course, we did not conduct these negotiations with the Russians,» he said.

Herman Halushchenko also reported that on August 22, an online summit on energy security was held within the framework of the third point of the Peace Formula, which was attended by more than 40 countries and international organizations.

«We adopted the joint communiqué of this summit... The key position in this document is that, apart from the reconstruction of Ukraine's energy system, these are not attacks on the energy system. It clearly states that attacks on the civilian power system are a violation of international humanitarian law, a violation of the UN Charter. And everyone supported it,» the minister said.

He believes that this document can be brought to the Russians, and some states can mediate in this process.

We will remind you that earlier the French publication Le Monde, referring to its own sources, wrote that Ukraine and Russia were supposedly conducting secret negotiations on concluding an agreement on mutual cessation of strikes on energy infrastructure, but the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region disrupted these plans.
