Kim about the change of the secretary of the Yuzhnoukrainsk City Council was legal

The registration of the new secretary of the Yuzhnoukrainsk City Council was legal. This was announced by the head of Mykolayiv RMA Vitalii Kim, adding that the work of local self-government is now being resumed in the city council.

He said this during the year-end press conference, which took place on December 26, NikVesti reports.

We will remind that the deputies of the Yuzhnoukrainsk City Council elected Denys Kravchenko as secretary at an external meeting. He repeatedly tried to register for a new position with the state registrar, but he succeeded only on the third attempt. By another decision, the deputies dismissed his predecessor Oleksandr Akulenko, who is now trying to appeal it.

The head of the Mykolaiv regional state administration considers the registration of Denys Kravchenko to be completely legal. He noted that he was following the processes in the Yuzhnoukrainsk City Council.

«Yes, it's legal. (the decision regarding the registration of Denys Kravchenko, — note) Because the state registration body registered it. And these are just manifestations of democracy and local self-government. I follow this process. Therefore, there is now a secretary there who introduces issues and restores the work of local self-government and interaction with the NPP, which is a city-forming object, including in the budget of Yuzhnoukrainsk,» he noted.

In turn, the deputy head of Mykolayiv RMA, Heorhii Reshetilov, added that the court recently decided to cancel the mayor's impeachment, so «political battles continue» in the city.

«Let me add to this question a little then. There, the court recently made a decision to cancel the impeachment of the mayor. The question is that the political battles continue,» he said.

We remind that 21 deputies were present at the away meeting of deputies on September 5. According to NikVesti information, most of them are related to or directly work at the South Ukrainian NPP.

Before the meeting, the deputies tried to expel the NikVesti correspondent and operator. In particular, Anzhela Savastru stated that she rented premises in the «Enerhetik» cultural center with her own money, and allegedly that is why journalists do not have the right to be there. And then she asked them to pay her rent.

People's deputy Artem Chornomorov, elected to the Council for the district, which includes Yuzhnoukrainian, considers the decision to terminate the powers of acting mayor Oleksandr Akulenko invalid. According to him, «this is a seizure of power».

At first, Denys Kravchenko failed to register for the position. In a decision dated September 14, 2023, the state registrar refused to register him as the secretary of the Yuzhnoukrainsk City Council. The document states that Denys Kravchenko did not submit the documents in full, and also did not leave the original documents and his own application for registration with the registrar. It is also indicated that technical errors were made when filling out the application.

The third attempt to register Denys Kravchenko took place in the evening of November 8 in the Kobleve village council. Representatives of the Yuzhnoukrainsk City Council, who oppose the appointment of Denys Kravchenko, said that the registrar had been given «fake documents» and called the police. Also, the deputy mayor of Yuzhnoukrainsk, Serhii Hornostai, indicated that the documents had «a fake stamp.» However, the attempt was successful for Denys Kravchenko and he was registered for the position.

Denys Kravchenko also explained why he could not be registered in the position the previous times. According to him, previously the work of the city council was paralyzed, and important issues for the community were not approved.

On November 20, Denys Kravchenko came to work, but could not get to the office. A locksmith was called to the scene and the lock was broken.

Denys Krivchenko has already managed to conduct several sessions. At one of them, the deputies supported the order regarding the settlement with Oleksandr Akulenko, who was dismissed by the same deputies.

In addition, the Yuzhnoukrainsk City Council will look for where the official seal went and who used it.
