On Tuesday, 24 June, an exhibition of the French artist Fanny Leschevalier — «In memoriam. Reality through art».
The exposition of 41 works was presented in the exhibition hall of the Mykolaiv City Palace of Culture and Arts, according to the correspondent of NikVesti.
Fanny Leschevalier has combined the works of Ukrainian photographers who document the consequences of the war with classical works of art. This creates a simultaneous dialogue between the past and the present, as well as between European cultural values and the military realities in Ukraine. The exhibition was organised by the charity foundation «Solidarity», which contributes to the reconstruction of Ukraine and helps those affected by the war.
The CEO of «Leroy Merlin Ukraine» and the CEO of «MegaBud» Dani Sheese said that the company had recently opened a store in Mykolaiv and became one of the foundation's financial sponsors.
«MegaBud» is the only young company that supports the activities of the «Solidarity» charity fund financially. And today at this exhibition we also support them, even if art is not our first priority. But we want to give people, Ukrainians who are going through the war, the opportunity to see it. The works from this exhibition will be sold, and the proceeds will help the foundation to fund their projects, in particular those aimed at helping Ukrainians», said Dani Sheese.
One of the foundation's projects is a shelter for the Mykolaiv Vocational Construction College. According to Ilya Rakhmanov, coordinator of the «Solidarity» charity foundation, this is only part of the foundation's large-scale activities.
«Our main focus is the reconstruction of housing: multi-storey buildings, condominiums, housing offices. But we also work with social infrastructure - schools, hospitals, kindergartens, rehabilitation centres. In Mykolaiv, we have already completed a shelter project at a construction college. One of the buildings was damaged by shelling, but the rest survived. Therefore, about 600 students will be able to return to offline learning from 1 September. We restored the shelter in cooperation with the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture», says Illia Rakhmanov.
He added that the proceeds from the sale of these paintings will go to support a psychological rehabilitation centre in Kyiv.
«All the money from the sale of the paintings will be used to expand the rehabilitation centre in the capital. The centre has already been built, and now we, together with our partners, want to equip it for psychological and mental recovery. This is important because even if there is physical prosthetics, but a person has not recovered mentally, he or she simply will not survive», said Illia Rakhmanov.
Mykolaiv is the third city to host the exhibition. Earlier, it was seen by residents of Kyiv and Odesa. After Mykolaiv, the exhibition will be presented in Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Lviv.
The exhibition will run from 25 June for two weeks. Address: 54 Vadyma Blahovysnoho Street (entrance from Soborna Street). Opening hours: Tuesday-Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00. Sunday and Monday are days off.
Entrance fee: Children (7-14 years old) — 10 hryvnias; Pensioners — 10 hryvnias; Adults — 20 hryvnias. Free of charge: Defenders, children under 7 and people with disabilities.
