Bashtanka Town Council has approved a €5.5 million grant from NEFCO to restore water supply and wastewater treatment

Photo: Bashtanka City CouncilAt its session on 1 June, the Bashtanka Town Council approved the use of a grant from the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) — with financial support from the EU — for a project to restore water supply and wastewater treatment in Bashtanka. The amount to be secured is €5.5 million.
This is stated in the decision of the Bashtanka Town Council.
The decision notes that the grant will amount to €5.5 million.
«The grant is provided in euros and will be paid by NEFCO directly to the contractors,» the draft decision states.
The Bashtanka Town Council is to allocate at least €560,000 to co-finance the project.
The Mayor of Bashtanka, Oleksandr Berehovyi, has received approval from the Town Council to submit and sign documents, including the agreement, to secure the grant.
«It is expected that international support will help improve the condition of the community’s critical public infrastructure,» the Bashtanka Town Council website reported.

A tender for the reconstruction of the external water supply network from the well in the village of Zbroshkove to the settlement of Domanivka has already been announced.
