Today, May 9, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a draft law on amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses to increase liability for violations of mobilization rules.

People's deputies Yaroslav Zhelezniak and Iryna Herashchenko report this.

It is noted that 256 deputies from all factions voted for draft law №10379.

This draft law increases the terms of administrative liability and administrative detention. At the same time, it introduces criminal liability for refusing a medical examination during mobilization.

In addition, the project proposes to increase the amount of fines and the duration of administrative detention — up to 3 years.

«The minimum amount of the fine for violations provided for in these articles will be 8,500 hryvnias (compared to 510 hryvnias previously), and the maximum — 204,000 hryvnias (compared to 8,500 hryvnias previously),» Iryna Herashchenko said.

Iryna Gerashchenko said that now the sanctions for violation of military records are stricter than for some military offenses, in particular for desertion. Instead, before the second reading, some of the articles were softened.

What about the mobilization in Mykolaiv Oblast?

As you know, during the full-scale war, 33,000 residents of the Mykolaiv Oblast were mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces.

The head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitalii Kim, expressed his belief in the need for mobilization after personal communication with the military, who are currently defending the state.

The head of the RMA added that money should not be the main motivation for protecting the state.

In response to this, Oksana Kaliuzhna, a member of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, reacted negatively to the regional leadership's statement regarding mobilization, comparing the issuing of summonses to evasioners to catching dogs.
