The man from Mykolaiv, who is suspected of passing data on military boats in the local port to the Russian Federation, will be tried

An indictment was sent to the court against a resident of Mykolaiv, who is suspected of transferring to Russia data on the location of military boats in Mykolaiv port and support for the Russian Federation in social networks.

This is reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, the suspect worked for the enemy and collected information about the location of the units of the Armed Forces in Mykolaiv and the region. He is also suspected of passing on information to the enemy about the consequences of enemy shelling of Mykolaiv. In the zone of special attention of the enemy agent were the locations of military boats in Mykolaiv port, the directions of their movement.

The man transmitted the intelligence through the Telegram messenger, indicating the coordinates that make it possible to determine the area. Through Telegram, the suspect also distributed propaganda messages in which he justified the war.

The suspect will be tried under Part 3 of Article 114-2, Parts 1 and 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — he faces up to 12 years in prison. The accused is currently in custody.
