Over 100 boiler rooms have been installed in the Mykolaiv region in four years, Kim says

During the full-scale war, more than 100 boiler rooms were installed in the Mykolaiv region.

As reported by Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, on Novyny.LIVE, the region has diversified its heating system.

«Last year, when the Russians were attacking the thermal power plant in Mykolaiv, I raised this issue. I made a strong request, and then the Prime Minister allocated funds for block-modular boiler rooms for heating. So now our region is 100% diversified,» said Vitalii Kim.

According to him, 91 boiler rooms were installed with the support of international partners, and another 18 were funded by the government.

«Over the years of this war, international partners have installed 91 boiler rooms with a capacity of 5 MW each. The government additionally financed 18 more boiler rooms with a capacity of 250 kW each. We saw the threat that we could be left without centralised heating for 100,000 people, drew conclusions and took action. We are now in the final stage. We need funds from the government, which have already been promised, to complete the connection. We plan to have everything completed by 1 September. At the same time, we got through this heating season without any force majeure situations because we had been preparing for this since 2022, unfortunately,» added Vitalii Kim.

As a reminder, 7 million hryvnias are planned to be spent on the purchase of boiler rooms for Lyceum No. 10 in Voznesensk, Mykolaiv region. Most of these funds will be allocated from the state budget — 5.3 million hryvnias, and another part will be allocated from the local budget — 1.6 million hryvnias.

The contractor will have to dismantle the existing boiler rooms and install two new modular boiler rooms by 31 December 2027: a solid fuel boiler room and an emergency block-modular boiler room. The new boiler rooms must be manufactured at the factory and delivered ready-made.
