Head of the President's Office Kyrylo Budanov believes that the number of terrorist attacks in Ukraine, similar to the explosion in Mykolaiv, may increase. At the same time, he assures that Ukraine is ready to counter such threats.
He stated this in an interview with TSN, according to NikVesti.
As is known, an explosion occurred in Mykolaiv on the evening of 23 February. A few hours after the incident, the Security Service of Ukraine classified the explosion in Mykolaiv as a terrorist act and opened a criminal investigation.
«Unfortunately, we must be prepared for the fact that there may be many more such cases, so to speak. If the Russian Federation has decided to activate this option now, it is all quite low-level, like cheap operations, believe me. And, in principle, if desired, they can be done a lot. Will we be able to resist this? First of all, in each such case, the perpetrators have already been caught. This will also influence the people who are watching all this. Because it's one thing when, let's say, you just don't know what will happen to you next, because few people have done this, and someone offers you money, you can try it. But when you see that for every such act, the next day, or even on the same day, people are arrested and face life imprisonment, you start to think twice,» said Kyrylo Budanov.
In addition, in his opinion, during wartime, Telegram channel owners should be required to register their channels.
«I suggested this back in 2024. Not to block it, but, let's say, to tidy it up a bit so that Telegram remains the messenger it should be. I am not against messengers or even Telegram channels. But, excuse me, if you register your Telegram channel, show who is behind it. You are responsible for the content you publish on it,»added Kyrylo Budanov.
