Sappers have cleared 76% of the territory of Mykolaiv region. Twenty-seven international organisations participated in the work.

This was announced by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, during the Unified news telethon.

According to him, the demining work was temporarily suspended only due to bad weather.

«76% of the territory has already been demined. There are many international organisations involved in demining, 27 if I remember correctly. They have been working here continuously for four years. There was a pause only because of bad weather, as work cannot be carried out at sub-zero temperatures. In general, they are constantly on site and have not left,» said Vitalii Kim.

Recently, in the Mykolaiv region, police bomb disposal experts found and defused the warhead of a Russian drone that did not detonate after falling. At the scene, bomb disposal experts found parts of a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle shot down by the Ukrainian Defence Forces with a warhead that did not explode during the fall.

Since the ammunition posed a real threat to human life and health, the police decided to defuse it by means of a controlled explosion.
