«I'm going to the hospital because I broke my arm. It's so difficult to get there. It's a real mockery of people,» says Svitlana, a resident of Bohdanivka.

«From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., we ferry people so they can get to work and back. Yesterday, we worked all day. The lads helped to make the crossing. I don't know what the weather will be like tomorrow. We're working today, and I hope we'll be working tomorrow too,» says Volodymyr.

Vitalii, a ferry operator, said that the entire pier is flooded, so the ferry cannot operate for the time being. He noted that the water level has risen 1.5 metres higher than usual.

«This is how we survive on the island, the ferry is not working. We haven't been able to cross for three days, only the boat is running. It only left today. We'll see if we can cross by boat. That's how things are in Bohdanivka,» summarised Vasyl, a soldier.

Traffic blocked on temporary crossings near Voznesensk and Oleksandrivka: what is known

In the Mykolaiv region, traffic has been blocked on certain sections of roads due to flooding and bad weather.

According to the Voznesensk City Council, due to the rise in the water level in the Mertvovod River, public transport has been restricted on the temporary crossing.

In addition, traffic has been blocked for a long time on the temporary crossing near the village of Oleksandrivka in the direction of Domanivka. The Buzke village council warned that due to flooding, it is currently impossible for transport to travel on this section of the road.

Residents are asked to take these restrictions into account when planning their routes and to follow official announcements regarding the resumption of traffic.
