There are currently no spare generators in Mykolaiv that could be sent to Kyiv.
This was stated by the first deputy mayor of Mykolaiv, Vitalii Lukov, in a comment to NikVesti.
As is known, Kryvyi Rih, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia will transfer additional distributed generation sources to Kyiv to strengthen the capital's energy security.
«We do not have anything in reserve that we can transfer, so there is no such information. For some reason, it seems to me that this is more of a political issue. It has not been considered. You know that we helped Odesa with buses. I haven't heard anything about generators for Kyiv. This has to be agreed upon somehow. Oleksandr Sienkevych communicates regularly with Vitalii Klychko,» said Vitalii Lukov.
He added that Mykolaiv is «in dialogue» with Kyiv.
—They probably need them, but unfortunately, we don't have any spare generators in our warehouses. The mayor regularly communicates with Vitalii Klychko through the Association of Ukrainian Cities. They have set up a support group there. They are in dialogue with Kyiv,» added Vitalii Lukov.
It should be noted that, according to Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba, Kryvyi Rih will transfer two cogeneration units with a total capacity of 2 megawatts. Kherson will provide three block-modular boiler rooms, which will add more than 2 megawatts, and Zaporizhzhia will provide two cogeneration units with a capacity of 2.5 megawatts each.
In January, about 600,000 people left Kyiv: what is known
On 9 January, the mayor called on Kyiv residents who had the opportunity to temporarily leave the city after a massive Russian attack. As a result of the shelling, almost half of the capital's apartment buildings were left without heat.
As of the evening of 19 January, energy companies had restored heat to almost all of the affected buildings. According to the mayor, only 16 of the approximately 6,000 buildings damaged during the attack on 9 January remained without heating.
However, on the night of 20 January, Russian troops shelled Kyiv again, leaving 5,635 high-rise buildings without heat. Almost 80% of the buildings that were left without heat after this attack are homes where heat supply had been restored after the damage on 9 January.
As of the evening of 20 January, more than one million consumers in Kyiv were left without electricity. More than 4,000 high-rise buildings were also left without heat.
Throughout January, approximately 600,000 residents temporarily left Kyiv, which has a permanent population of about three million people.
