People's Deputy Viktoriia Voitsitska stated that the Ukrainian power system is supported by three nuclear power plants: Rivne, South Ukraine, and Khmelnytskyi.
She said this during a live broadcast on KYIV24.
«Right now, the entire country is essentially dependent on the operation of three nuclear power plants: Rivne, South Ukraine, and Khmelnytskyi. If all three nuclear power plants were to simultaneously disconnect from our power grid, which I honestly don't believe will happen because it's unlikely, then certain problems could arise,» said Viktoriia Voitsitska.
She noted that even if one or two nuclear power plants are shut down, their restoration will take place «much faster than in previous years.»
«On the other hand, it should be remembered that a strategic reserve of equipment has been formed for substations and the entire infrastructure of Ukrenergo thanks to the help of partners. Even if one or two nuclear power plants are disconnected from the grid, their restoration will be much faster than in previous years, precisely because of this reserve,» she added.
As a reminder, in Mykolaiv, planned power outages continue for up to 16 hours a day, although there is no significant damage to the grid. According to Vitalii Kim, the outages are planned and are related to the general state of the energy system.
