At the same time, large-scale power outages were recorded in a number of regions.
This was announced by Acting Energy Minister Artem Nekrasov during a briefing.
«As a result of Russia's massive attack on the energy infrastructure, nuclear power plants were forced to reduce their generation capacity. Nuclear power plants will be restored to their rated capacity gradually as soon as the power sector restores the networks damaged by the enemy,» he said.
Artem Nekrasov emphasised that strikes on the infrastructure that supplies power to Ukrainian NPPs are a gross violation of nuclear safety standards.
According to him, as of this morning, consumers in Rivne, Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi regions have almost completely lost power. The shelling caused power outages in Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Dnipro and Kharkiv regions.
In Odesa region, several consecutive massive strikes on the region's energy infrastructure are being repaired. On the evening of 22 December, Russian troops attacked Odesa with attack drones. The attack damaged port infrastructure and a civilian vessel.
