Mykola Lohvinov, director of the utility company «Mykolaivoblteploenergo», said that boiler houses with a large number of consumers worked for five hours during power outages and then were shut down for another five hours.
He said this in a comment to NikVesti.
According to him, the boiler houses operated in such a way as not to damage the equipment.
«Large boiler houses with many consumers and buildings, as well as many air networks, worked for five hours on the generator, then were shut down for five hours. The generator is not a panacea, we can destroy it and then there will be nothing at all. Small boiler houses with fewer residents and without complicated networks either operated from the grid, if it was available, or we ran them at night. We were heating the houses,» said Mykola Lohvinov.
As a reminder, in two days, the utility company «Mykolaivoblteploenergo» purchased 24 tonnes of diesel fuel for generators that support the city's critical infrastructure during power outages.
Earlier, Mykola Lohvinov, director of the utility company «Mykolaivoblteploenergo», said that in the event of prolonged power outages, «Mykolaivoblteploenergo» has backup power for the main boiler houses, but generators cannot completely solve the problem.
According to him, large neighbourhood boiler houses are equipped with generators, but some of the older small boiler houses still lack equipment.
Electricity and water supply are gradually being restored in Mykolaiv
Mykolaiv is now receiving power in turns, and critical infrastructure such as hospitals, boiler houses and water pumping stations are operating without interruption.
According to Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, heating in the city is stable, but 26 buildings are temporarily without electricity. «Mykolaivoblteploenergo» is working with residents to connect generators to solve the problem.
The resilience centres, which have been visited by more than 2,700 people since their opening, have temporarily closed since 3pm. In the event of a new blackout, they will resume their work.
The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, said that water supply had also been restored.
Shelling of Mykolaiv region on 13 December: what is known
At night and in the morning of 13 December, Russian troops attacked critical and industrial infrastructure in Mykolaiv and the region. As a result of the shelling, settlements in Bashtanka and Mykolaiv districts were left without electricity. Restoration works are currently underway.
Later it became known that five people were injured in the Russian attack in Mykolaiv on 13 December. Critical and industrial infrastructure, as well as the private sector, were damaged.
According to Vitalii Kim, three people were hospitalised — a 43-year-old man, a 48-year-old woman and a 16-year-old teenager. They are in moderate condition. Two more people were treated on an outpatient basis.
Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych added that it was one of the most massive attacks in Mykolaiv and the region in recent times.
As of the morning of 14 December, it became known that three private houses in Mykolaiv were destroyed as a result of a massive combined Russian attack, and 78 other houses were damaged.
Yesterday, Vitalii Kim said that the power supply in Mykolaiv region would be restored in two stages:

Temporary electricity restoration will last 3-4 hours.
-
Full restoration of the grids and return of power supply to «as it was before» is expected within two days.
