Mykolaiv City Council member Artem Iliuk believes that the city council is in crisis, so it is necessary to reformat the deputy commissions.

He voiced this opinion at a regular session of the Mykolaiv City Council on Thursday, 27 November, during a discussion of the reformatting of deputy commissions, according to NikVesti.

According to him, this can give a new impetus to the city council, which «has exhausted the mandate of voter confidence».

«I support the idea of reformatting the city council commissions. I think it can give a new impetus, as fresh blood moves the body, and the city council can revive itself because it has been sitting too long. Legally, we are indeed extending our powers, but among voters, we have probably already exhausted our mandate of trust, because we were given it for five years. So perhaps this is the right time to give a new impetus to this city council. Especially since three councillors have already fallen out, and the majority that was there at the beginning of the convocation has been exhausted. And I see a small crisis, a small crisis in the city council so far, which can be changed into a normal working course,» said Artem Iliuk.

As a reminder, Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych promised to create all conditions for deputies to attend committee meetings, including workplaces and even «bunks» to rest in the city council's bomb shelter.
