Tetiana Demchenko, a member of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, has once again stated about the «catastrophic» state of roads in the Yelanets community.

She said this today, on 20 November, at the 32nd extraordinary session of the regional council of the eighth convocation, according to NikVesti.

According to her, the residents of the Yelanets community are virtually cut off from the outside world, and even ambulances cannot pass through.

«I am making a proposal to the next session of the regional council to hear a report on the implementation of our decision, adopted almost six months ago, in early July, to provide access to the R-55 highway. I ask you to consider this issue at the session and inform the deputies and residents of the region about the measures taken by the authorities. The situation today is catastrophic: people from Yelanets are cut off from the outside world on all four sides. It is impossible for ambulances and residents to use the road. I appeal to the heads of the regional, district and village levels: dear people, don't just get bonuses, let's look at the fact that there is no access. People are unable to do basic things,» she said.

Anton Tabunschyk, chairman of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, replied that the issue would be considered when the agenda for the next session, which will take place at the end of December, is being drawn up.
