On the night of 19 November, Russian troops launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy. As a result of the strikes, emergency power outages were introduced in several regions.
The Ministry of Energy explained that rescuers and power crews will begin to eliminate the consequences as soon as the security situation allows. The ministry emphasises that the blackouts will remain in place until the power grid is stabilised, after which they will be cancelled.
Last night, several regions came under enemy fire, including Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Ternopil, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. In the morning, explosions were also heard in Khmelnytskyi, Rivne and Dnipro regions — Russia attacked with drones and missiles.
Earlier, the first deputy mayor of Mykolaiv, Vitalii Lukov, spoke about the readiness of the city's social sector to possible long-term power and heat outages due to Russian shelling.
The official assured that the city has worked out several stages of action in case of prolonged power and heat outages. At the same time, he acknowledges that it is difficult to predict the situation in advance in times of war.
