Russians attacked port infrastructure in Odesa region: one injured

On the night of 20 August, Russian troops attacked the Izmail district of Odesa region with Shahed kamikaze drones.

Despite air defences, several drones hit the target, according to the Izmail District State Administration.

The port and fuel and energy infrastructure, as well as production facilities, were damaged. Large-scale fires broke out at the sites of the strikes. Fifty-four rescuers, 16 units of equipment, a fire train and a local fire brigade were engaged to extinguish them, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported.

One person was injured in the attack. He is being provided with the necessary medical care. According to Oleh Kiper, the head of the RMA, law enforcement officers are documenting another crime by Russians against civilians in the region.

As a reminder, Russian drones have also recently attacked Odesa region. In the suburbs of Odesa, a large fire broke out at a fuel and energy infrastructure facility and a two-storey building.
