As a result of Russian attacks, Ukraine has lost a significant part of its port infrastructure. According to preliminary estimates, the restoration of the damaged facilities will cost at least one billion euros.

This was stated by Andrii Kashuba, Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories Development, during his speech at the Black Sea Security Forum.

According to the official, about 400 port infrastructure facilities have been damaged as a result of Russian aggression, and 31 civilian vessels have been destroyed or damaged. In addition, 106 industry workers were injured or killed.

Earlier it was reported that on 23 May, Russian ballistic missile attacks on the port infrastructure of Odesa killed one person and injured eight others.

As a reminder, Ukrainian ports handled 23 million tonnes of cargo in the first quarter of this year. 90% of that was through the ports of Odesa region.
