Drone attacks in Mykolaiv region: two people injured, houses and cars damaged

On Monday, 26 May, Russian FPV drones struck the Kutsurub community in Mykolaiv region twice. A private house was damaged in the village of Solonchaky. In Dniprovske village, two private houses and a car were damaged.

An 80-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman were injured. They were provided with medical assistance on the spot and will be treated on an outpatient basis, the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported.

Also on 26 May, Russians attacked the waters of the Ochakiv community and the coastal zone of Ochakiv three times. There were no casualties.

Strike on Mykolaiv on 25 May

As you know, on Saturday night, 25 May, the Russian army launched dozens of drones at Mykolaiv. The first shelling in the city was heard around 00:50. The city authorities reported that the city was under attack by kamikaze drones.

A five-storey building in Zavodskyi district of Mykolaiv was hit. People were trapped under the rubble. Rescuers managed to unblock the body of one of the residents at 6am. The victim was a 77-year-old man. In addition, 5 other people were injured, including a teenager. Mykolaiv rescuers managed to pull a girl out of the rubble.

Authorities also reported that the night attack on Mykolaiv damaged infrastructure, office buildings and private homes. Power lines were damaged in different parts of the city. Two floors of an apartment building were destroyed, and the debris hit a nearby multi-storey building.

In addition, one of the kindergartens was damaged by a Russian drone strike. Windows were smashed and the roof was damaged.

Law enforcers have already opened a criminal investigation into the nighttime shelling of Mykolaiv on the grounds of war crimes (Article 438(2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, noted that the attack on 25 May was the most massive in recent years.

Later, rescuers removed the body of a dead woman from the rubble. As of the evening of 25 May, two people were reported dead and five wounded.

As of the morning of 26 May , six people were reported injured in the Russian attack on Mykolaiv.
