Night attack on Kyiv: 9 killed and dozens wounded, including children and a pregnant woman

On the night of 24 April, Kyiv suffered a massive combined attack by Russian troops. According to recent reports, 9 people were killed and 70 others were injured. Among the victims are six children and a pregnant woman.

This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Timur Tkachenko. The Sviatoshynskyi district suffered the most damage, with fires at six different facilities. Fires were also reported in Holosiivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts.

As of 03:38, one person was reported dead and 50 injured. At that time, 35 people were taken to hospitals, including six children. Another 15 people were treated on the spot.

Later, the death toll increased: at 03:53, two victims were confirmed. At 06:06, the SES reported nine dead and 63 injured, 42 of whom were hospitalised, including children.

The strikes damaged residential buildings, cars and other civilian infrastructure. Emergency services are working at the sites of the strikes and are carrying out damage control.

Later, the State Emergency Service reported that as of 7:30 a.m., nine people had been killed in Kyiv as a result of the Russian strike. More than 70 people were injured.
