Zelenskyy plans to go to Vatican to say goodbye to Pope

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to attend the farewell ceremony with Pope Francis in the Vatican.

This was reported by «Evropeiska Pravda», citing its own sources who are aware of the president's plans.

According to the interlocutors, Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to attend events whose dates have not yet been determined by the Holy See.

«The President's Office is waiting for the date of the Pope's burial and is preparing the President's visit to Rome and the Vatican to say goodbye to the pontiff,» he said, stressing that it was a visit to the farewell ceremony.

As a reminder, Pope Francis died on the morning of Monday, 21 April, at his residence in St Martha's House in the Vatican at the age of 88.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the news of Pope Francis' death, stressing that he had been praying for peace in Ukraine.

Some media outlets also reported that the cause of Pope Francis' death could have been a stroke.
